The online Doctor of Medical Science program at CBU will enhance the clinical, professional and research skills of working PAs. Students will complete a doctoral project based on their professional interests. Students in CBU's online Doctor of Medical Science (DMSc) program will complete 39 units of coursework over a 1-year or 2-year plan based on what best fits their schedule. Courses are taught by full-time CBU faculty members from the PA Studies Department as well as adjunct instructors who are also healthcare practitioners. DMSc Program Goals: -Strengthen clinical medical acumen. -Enhance effective leadership benefiting local and global healthcare communities. -Increase the ability to conduct and lead research in the medical field. Students in CBU's Doctor of Medical Science program will learn to: 1: Examine and implement advanced scientific strategies of evidence-based medicine, holistic medical care, and technical skills in healthcare delivery of evaluation, diagnosis, dignity, and treatment of patients. 2: Demonstrate the highest standards of professionalism in relation to critical thinking, legal and ethical issues, empathy, cultural sensitivity, and spiritual integration as it relates to medical practice. 3: Evaluate, conduct, and apply scholarly medical research that meaningfully contributes to the field of medicine and honors human life. 4: Critically analyze leadership theories and demonstrate research-based best practices to effectively collaborate and lead diverse teams in serving healthcare communities and improving patient care locally and globally. 5: Assess and facilitate clinical competency, professionalism, and acquisition of advanced clinical skills in relation to leadership and whole-person patient care.
