The College of Idaho’s Doctor of Medical Science (DMSc) program is a post-professional doctorate specifically designed for Physician Assistants (PAs). This program is intended for PAs who are currently or have previously been certified or licensed to practice as a PA. It is delivered with flexibility through an online, asynchronous learning model, allowing PAs to continue practicing or teaching full-time while earning their doctorate. The DMSc program features a rigorous and innovative curriculum focused on implementation science to lead change and apply evidence-based practices across disciplines. The program offers two pathways: a traditional pathway and an accelerated pathway. Traditional Pathway: A 36-credit hour program completed in 18 months. This pathway offers PAs the option to choose a concentration in Health System Leadership, Health Professions Education, or Lifestyle Medicine & Advanced Clinical Practice. Accelerated Pathway: Grants eligible students 9-18 credits of advanced standing, allowing them to complete their doctorate in 9-12 months. The accelerated pathways are designed for Early Career PAs, Experienced PA Educators, and PA Fellows.
