Southern Illinois University Doctor of Medical Science Program

Build on your experience with a Doctor of Medical Science (DMSc) degree from Southern Illinois University School of Medicine, offered through the Department of Physician Associate Medicine. This fully online, terminal degree is designed by PAs, for PAs, with flexible 1- or 2-year track options and three annual cohort starts: January, May/June.

The SIU DMSc offers a choice between a clinical or education-focused practicum, allowing students to tailor their experience to their professional goals. Our curriculum prepares graduates to lead in healthcare, academia, disaster response, public/private sectors, and beyond—equipping PAs to be ethical, competitive, and adaptable in today’s dynamic healthcare environment.

Students earn up to 37 AAPA Category I CME credits as part of the 37-credit hour program. With tuition at $631 per credit hour and an $80 per credit hour technology fee, the SIU DMSc is an investment in lifelong professional growth and leadership. The program is exclusive to NCCPA-certified PAs and designed for working professionals in clinical or academic settings.
