Appropriately diagnosing and treating hip and lumbar spine pathology can be difficult as the two are intimately related. This presentation will review the anatomy, pathophysiology, evaluation and management of the hip and lumbar spine. Primary, urgent, and emergency care providers will learn how to differentiate between these two pathologies, supply an accurate diagnosis, and develop an appropriate treatment plan.
Learning Objectives:
At the conclusion of this session, participants should be able to:
Differentiate between the normal, and abnormal anatomy, of the spine and hip
Describe the common disorders of the spine and hip
Explain the clinical presentations and radiographic findings of both spine and hip patients in pain
Recommend appropriate management and treatment options for both spine and hip disorders
