Statistics show that one in six couples has trouble getting pregnant and in over 50% of cases a male factor is involved. However, men are rarely the first to be evaluated or treated, and about 25% of male partners don’t complete a fertility evaluation at all. In this lecture, we’ll dive into the potential causes of male infertility, explore the negative environmental and lifestyle risk factors, and understand the components of a semen analysis. We’ll also review the basic treatment options available for male patients. By gaining a deeper understanding of this topic, we can shift our mindset from a female-focused fertility evaluation to a couple-focused approach. Attend this lecture to learn how we can better support both partners on their path to parenthood.
