Do you want to brush up on the basic fundamentals of reading 12-lead EKGs and have fun doing it? This workshop is a great hands-on opportunity to connect the dots between the 3D heart and how it corresponds to the EKG. Participants will leave this workshop understanding (not just memorizing) the contiguous leads and reciprocal changes. Participants can practice finding STEMIs and sort them out from the STEMI mimic. The most important part of this session will be reviewing the new STEMI equivalents that came out in November 2022 and how they apply, regardless of the setting you work in.
Learning Objectives:
At the conclusion of this session, participants should be able to:
Demonstrate coronary anatomy and how it applies to the EKG
Review contiguous leads and reciprocal changes
Review the high risk EKG findings the machine will miss
Identify the new STEMI equivalents and how to spot them
Describe the STEMI mimics and how not to be burned by them
