Anemia is a common finding that providers will encounter. It is most commonly associated with iron deficiency, but anemia is caused by countless other conditions and requires further workup to provide appropriate treatment. In this presentation, we will review some of these other causes for anemia and discuss their management.

Discuss the signs and symptoms associated with anemia
Identify and distinguish the various causes of anemia based on mean corpuscular volume (MCV) and clinical acuity
Review commonly collected laboratory tests in an anemia workup and interpret their results
