CE: 1.00 AAPA Category 1 CME
Despite years of intense focus, syphilis rates continue to rise. Most devastatingly, the rate of congenital syphilis has reached levels not seen in decades. Yet syphilis is neither the only, nor the most common, genital ulcerative disease. Herpes simplex remains an underrecognized and undertreated condition, with continued stigma and misinformation impacting testing. Further, Mpox outbreaks continue to occur nationally and internationally. This presentation will focus on these three main diseases, helping PAs to keep a broad differential for patients with genital complaints as well as a review of the newest recommended screening and prophylactic treatment regimens, including DoxyPEP and vaccination options.
