Constipation is more than a box to click in the review-of-systems template. Constipation has far-reaching effects and has significant impacts on our patients. Neurologic and psychiatric diseases have a high prevalence of constipation. Dysbiosis and the use of GLP-1 medications can cause or exacerbate constipation. This problem is often under-appreciated and not recognized until complications develop. This dynamic lecture will discuss causes, assessment, and innovative multi-modal approaches to getting things moving.
