This workshop will review anatomy, demonstrate which type of chest CT imaging is best for different disease states, and provide a systemic approach to interpreting common findings on chest X-rays. We will review common disease findings on chest imaging such as pneumonia, pulmonary edema, pulmonary emboli, interstitial lung disease, and lung cancer. Attendees will examine detailed case studies of both CXRs and chest CT and will be highly encouraged to work together to interpret the radiographic findings.
Note: This session requires separate registration and has limited seating. Sign up when you register for conference.
Learning Objectives:
At the conclusion of this session, participants should be able to:
Review anatomy on chest radiography, including identification of radiographic landmarks on chest X-rays and CTs of the chest
Recognize proper placement of chest tubes, central venous catheters, and endotracheal tubes on CXRs
Review the types and indications for ordering certain chest radiography such as high resolution CT and CT pulmonary angiogram
Outline a systemic approach for interpreting CXRs
Recognize, and be able to describe, common findings on CXRs and chest CTs, such as pneumonia, pleural effusions, and pneumothorax
