Navigating CT Scans of the Chest, Abdomen, and Pelvis
Sunday, May 18, 2025
10:30 AM – 11:30 AM
CE: 1.00 AAPA Category 1 CME
This session will provide a review of computed tomography (CT) scan technology and how to interpret images of the chest, abdomen, and pelvis. Attendees will learn CT techniques and protocols and how to systematically interpret scans of various anatomical regions, including the thorax, upper abdomen, gastrointestinal tract, genitourinary system, vasculature, lymph nodes, and skeletal structures. Interactive audience participation will be encouraged as we apply imaging concepts to common pathologies of both emergent and non-emergent conditions.
Learning Objectives:
At the conclusion of this session, participants should be able to:
Describe the common indications, technical aspects, and physics of computed tomography (CT) scans of the chest, abdomen, and pelvis
Develop a systematic approach for interpreting CT images across different anatomical regions
Identify and interpret key findings in common pathologies, such as pulmonary embolism, acute abdominal conditions, and vascular emergencies
Enhance diagnostic skills through case studies of various pathologies and key imaging findings
