ePoster 1: APP Professional Billing Optimization Initiative
The APP Professional Billing Optimization Initiative is an education program designed by clinicians for clinicians to augment professional billing education to financially capture current work practices, i.e. bill appropriately for notes. The aim of the project was to increase total work relative value units (wRVU) by 30% for the Hospital Inpatient Department of Medicine. This was done by creating a multimodal education series. The project exceeded the goal, increasing total wRVU by >30%.

ePoster 2: Brigham and Women's Hospital Physician Assistant Mentorship Program
We created the PA mentorship program for employees within our institution who are underrepresented in medicine and pursuing the PA career in efforts to increase diversity within PA profession. Of 13 applicants, we selected two participants and provided them shadowing in various specialties, recommendation letters and mock interviews. Through nccPA grant funding, we assisted participants in costs relative to the PA pursuit and both participants have successfully matriculated into PA programs.

ePoster 3: Continuous Quality Improvement of a Race Concordant ‘Family-Style’ Mentorship Program
The NSBPA Mentorship Program was launched in January 2021. Cohort survey data collected from 2021-2024 was analyzed to evaluate the impact of a race-concordant, ‘family-style’ mentorship program on pre-PAs and their PA student and PA-C mentors. Preliminary analysis of data from the 2021 and 2022 cohorts indicated a positive trend in the program’s impact and effectiveness. This session will expand on those findings. The session is designed for practicing PA-Cs and current PA students.

ePoster 5: Soft Tissue Infection Caused by Candida tropicalis
Candida tropicalis is an emerging form of infection that carries a high mortality rate if not treated swiftly. In the case presented here, the patient suffered from three distinct C.tropicalis infections including of the urinary tract, blood, and soft tissue.

ePoster 6: The Medical Genetics Workforce: A Focus on PAs
Genetics PAs represent a needed and growing source within the medical genetics clinic. Understanding the characteristics and role of PAs in genetics is essential in quantifying their contribution to the overall medical genetics workforce, supplementing the known genetics workforce shortage. Data from this study will also help guide employers and genetics organizations to utilize PAs at the top of their scope.
