ePoster Research Rounds (CME): 6-minute ePoster presentations within a 60-minute time block
ePoster 1: APP Professional Billing Optimization Initiative The APP Professional Billing Optimization Initiative is an education program designed by clinicians for clinicians to augment professional billing education to financially capture current work practices, i.e. bill appropriately for notes. The aim of the project was to increase total work relative value units (wRVU) by 30% for the Hospital Inpatient Department of Medicine. This was done by creating a multimodal education series. The project exceeded the goal, increasing total wRVU by >30%. Presenter: Chelsey Donals, PA – Physician Assistant, Highland Hospital Kelsey Pinkerton, PA – Physician Assistant, Highland Hospital
ePoster 2: Brigham and Women's Hospital Physician Assistant Mentorship Program We created the PA mentorship program for employees within our institution who are underrepresented in medicine and pursuing the PA career in efforts to increase diversity within PA profession. Of 13 applicants, we selected two participants and provided them shadowing in various specialties, recommendation letters and mock interviews. Through nccPA grant funding, we assisted participants in costs relative to the PA pursuit and both participants have successfully matriculated into PA programs. Presenter: Tiffany Andrade, PA-C – Physician Assistant, Brigham and Women's Hospital Marissa Cauley, PA-C – Chief Advanced Practice Provider Officer, Brigham and Women's Hospital
ePoster 3: Continuous Quality Improvement of a Race Concordant ‘Family-Style’ Mentorship Program The [Redacted] Mentorship Program was launched in January 2021. Cohort survey data collected from 2021-2024 was analyzed to evaluate the impact of a race-concordant, ‘family-style’ mentorship program on pre-PAs and their PA student and PA-C mentors. Preliminary analysis of data from the 2021 and 2022 cohorts indicated a positive trend in the program’s impact and effectiveness. This session will expand on those findings. The session is designed for practicing PA-Cs and current PA students. Presenter: Kathryn J. Reed, MS, PA-C – Assistant Professor, Vice Chair for Equity, Inclusion and Community Engagement

ePoster 4: ED Prescribing Rates after Implementation of an Antibiotic Stewardship Program Key points include overview of the importance of Antibiotic stewardship, key and secondary findings after implementation of an Antibiotic Stewardship program and study limitations. This poster presentation is intended for heath care workers in the emergency department or involved in hospital quality improvement programs, public health or health care policy. Presenter: Kathleen D. Moneghan, DHA, MPAS, PA-C – President, Maine Academy of Physician Associates
ePoster 5: Shift Change: Utilization of CCTA for ASCVD Screening for Firefighters Firefighters have a disproportionately elevated incidence of CAD and Sudden Cardiac Death. This study involves the use of CCTA as a novel method of screening for asymptomatic ASCVD in a group of 309 firefighters. CCTA results revealed significant underestimation of CAD in this population when compared to screening with AHA PREVENT scores and CAC scores, calling for better screening methods. Intended audience: health care workers in Preventative Cardiology, Occupational Medicine, and Primary Care Presenter: Jeremy Gage, PA-C – Physician Assistant, South Metro Fire Rescue
Additional Authors: Carrie Burns, MD – Physician, South Metro Fire Rescue Paul Jurgens, MD – Physician, South Denver Cardiology
ePoster 6: The Medical Genetics Workforce: A Focus on PAs Genetics PAs represent a needed and growing source within the medical genetics clinic. Understanding the characteristics and role of PAs in genetics is essential in quantifying their contribution to the overall medical genetics workforce, supplementing the known genetics workforce shortage. Data from this study will also help guide employers and genetics organizations to utilize PAs at the top of their scope. Presenter: Wesley G. Patterson, PhD, MSPA, PA-C, CAQ-Peds – Genetics PA, Greenwood Genetic Center
