RIA: Can a Quality Improvement CME Activity Increase PA Z-code Utilization?
Saturday, May 17, 2025
10:30 AM – 11:00 AM
CE: .5 AAPA Category 1 CME
Research in Action (RIA): 25-minute research presentation, eligible for CME
Z-codes link social determinants of health (SDOH) data to disease states in an effort to examine health inequities. PAs currently have low utilization of Z-codes. We developed a QI CME activity (Zero in on Z codes) to determine if a short-term intervention can improve uptake. We found that this CME activity resulted in a statistically significant increase in Z-code utilization.

Learning Objectives:
At the conclusion of this session, participants should be able to:
Identify the percentage of PAs that increased the utilization of Z-codes post quality improvement CME activity
Identify what subgroups of PAs had an increase in utilization of Z-codes post CME activity based on the available demographics
