A retrospective Medicare Part B claims study identified frequently performed outpatient urological procedures from 2014 through 2021. Urologists, PAs, and NPs were compared. Urologists claims decreased by 0.66%, while PA and NP claims increased by 109% and 156%, respectively. Urologists performed more procedures, yet the total declined by 15%, while PA/NPs increased by 130% and 162%, respectively. This analysis illustrates the broadening scope of practice for PAs and NPs in this specialty.
