Travis Kaufman, DMSc, PA-C, is a retired U.S. Army Physician Associate specializing in emergency, wilderness, and disaster medicine. He became a PA in 2012, completed a fellowship in Contingency Medicine at the White House Medical Unit, and earned his Doctor of Medical Science in Emergency Medicine in 2020. As Chief Medical Operations Officer at the White House Medical Unit, he has worked in over 72 countries, advising and training medical professionals in disaster, tactical, and emergency medicine. Dr. Kaufman currently leads the Emergency Management and Global Health program at the University of Lynchburg and continues advancing prehospital medicine worldwide.
