SIS: Leveraging Collaborations to Enhance Research and Scholarship Among PAs

Scholarly activities are increasingly being required of PAs in various roles ranging from clinical practice improvement, faculty promotion, and leadership advancement. Through an interactive format, the panelists will describe research collaboration and how it can be a useful strategy for increasing the quantity and quality of PA’s scholarly works. The benefits and challenges will be presented and discussed, and the panelist will answer attendee questions.

Learning Objectives:

At the conclusion of this session, participants should be able to:
  • Discuss the Boyer model of scholarship
  • Describe various forms of collaborative research of relevance to PA education and practice
  • Articulate the benefits associated with collaborative research strategies
  • Identify the challenges associated with collaborative research strategies
  • Describe the current level of collaborative research that is published within JPAE and JAAPA
