This session is a case-based and interactive presentation that will provide attendees with an overview of the indications, limitations, and the fundamentals of interpretation of computed tomography of the head for adult patients. Cases will include mild and severe trauma, stroke, headache, and tumor. The session is designed for providers who work in emergency medicine, urgent care, hospital medicine, trauma, and primary care.

At the conclusion of this session, participants should be able to:
Describe the risks, benefits, alternatives, indications, contraindications, advantages and costs of head CTs
Evaluate history, physical exam, and clinical decision tools to determine the appropriateness for ordering head CTs in adult patients
Apply the fundamentals of image interpretation in reviewing head CTs
